One shows the Van Slykes, Inc. women's ready-to-wear store at 1401 Pearl and Singer Sewing Machine Company at 1405 Pearl in 1928; one shows building owner Louis Ehrlich in the doorway of Van Slykes store after a fire at the store in 1930; one shows the building after the ready-to-wear store was taken over by Marcella Ehrlich Kahn and Albert Kahn and renamed Kahn's in 1932.
